Project SAILS is a standardized test of information literacy skills, and it will help Ashford University pinpoint areas of instructional opportunities. The SAILS test is currently administered to select online undergraduate students in ENG 122: English Composition II and GEN 499: General Education Capstone, and to campus undergraduate students in EXP 103: Freshman Experience.

Ashford University online students in GEN 499 performed about the same as the institution-type benchmark in the skill sets: Retrieving Sources, Documenting Sources, and Understanding Economic, Legal, and Social Issues.
